*NOTE* This page is pretty 'old', considered the fact that more and more companies are providing larger space and heaps of bandwidth...

I've been constantly seeking for greater free hosting company/plans but I'm stuck with 100Webspace.com . There are other companies/plans which provide 1Gb storage and many more great features like no auto advertisement insert, you decide where to put the ads and etc. Sounds great but in common, they have all sorts of restriction for free hosting which I decided not to continue.

Below is my wish list, or a check list when I'm going for paid hosting...

Hosting check list or wish list:

At least 5 Gb storage
At least 25 Gb traffic
At least 3 MySQL database
No size restriction on MySQL database
No individual file size restriction
Running on linux server
PHP version >= 4.3.4
MySQL version >= 4.0.24
For Unicode, PHP >= 5.0 MySQL >= 4.1

For god's sake, DISABLE register_globals
Supports mod_rewrite, for permanent URL
Supports FTP access
Built in control panel
No ugly web based file manager please

Log analyzer
Self-advertisement-placement, I don't want a ad showing inside IFRAME !!!
NO popup advertisement, text-base ad is good enough
No stupid ad insert which breaks php script, eg. WorldFreeWeb.com
Web based database manager like phpMyAdmin
Email account and mailing list
No amateur support team, not kidding
