Plot Outline
Set in the 1930s, a film crew filming a movie on an uncharted island stumble upon many strange, dangerous creatures, including 'Kong', a giant ape who captures the lead actress.
Just came back from the movie of King Kong. Im not a very picky guy, to me, King Kong is a good movie to watch.
It's pretty boring at first, but when their adventure begins (well, thanks to the film director, Carl) you just can't stop watching it. Nice animation and special effects, also loved the King Kong's kung fu style when it's fighting the 3 T-Rex in the jungle. Also there are a few breathtaking scene that makes you hold your breath in horror. At times, I think Kong is funny and cute but it's not the case when you're the innocent one who got stepped by it... hehe...
Well since they got the eight wonder thing, the story is not real, but I just can't understand some things like:
- How did they track down Kong in the jungle ??? Jack brings nothing with him, no weapon, no compass, but he still manage to find Kong and Ann... that's crap...
- Why all the crews' clothes are always so clean all day long? I'll get more mud stain on my clothes in just one round of paintball game compare to them.. hmm, like Ann's clothes, do you think Kong ever washes it hands ?? why she still looks clean after Kong grabbed her N times?? not to mention Kong grabbed her using its foot a few times...
- When Jack came to rescue Ann and trying to escape via a "suddenly appear tarzan rope"... it reminds me the story of a princess got trapped in a tower and the princess makes a rope out of clothes and the knight climbs up and kill the demon.. come on, can't they think of a better one ??
- Where's the natives when they get back to the shore ?? population wiped out by a few tommy gun ?? cut cost ?? retrenchment ?? fired ??
The story is quite touching but there are too many long, lingering stares between Ann and Kong. A few times it's fine, the rest are just making me yawning. Towards the ending, Kong climbs up Empire State Building, instead of World Trade Center in the old King Kong movie. That's because of the tragic events of September 11, Empire State Building is once again New York's tallest building.
Quote (last line):
It wasn't the airplanes; beauty killed the beast.
There is always a relationship between beauty and beast :O Planning to watch Narnia, it's not screening in local cinemas yet.
