Sea World on Boxing Day - 7:07 pm
Event , Movie , Personal  -  poster

Went to Sea World with housemates on 26 Dec Boxing Day. It's my 3rd visit. Things that are new to me are Shark Bay and hmm... nothing major brand new over there. One interesting thing is that we got this PK (Player Kill) thing among me, Andy and Emily. The PK is about riding the pirate ship, whoever stays until the end and didn't vomit wins. So we played 5 times of pirate ship but too bad we're all so good, and also it's nearly 6pm, they're closing so we have to stop. No losers, we're all winners ! Don't think that it's so easy, the thing is you cannot hold the security bar, not even a single thing, and we sit either on the head or tail of the pirate ship for 5 rides... How does that sounds to you ? Oh man... we just loved to show off and show it to some kids that challenge us ;)

They changed the water ski performance too. They've got this summer them and dressing like 60s and 70s, with hair style like Elvis Presley. The best show ever among my 3 visits. Seems that they hired more performer too.

We watched The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe on the way back we from Gold Coast. It's not that great than what I expected. No time to write comments on it, going out soon... maybe I'll write next time when I got time.

ps: somebody said Narnia is nice... i think that somebody is Kirara...

King Kong : The Eigth Wonder - 2:08 am
Movie  -  poster

Plot Outline

Set in the 1930s, a film crew filming a movie on an uncharted island stumble upon many strange, dangerous creatures, including 'Kong', a giant ape who captures the lead actress.

King Kong
Just came back from the movie of King Kong. Im not a very picky guy, to me, King Kong is a good movie to watch.

It's pretty boring at first, but when their adventure begins (well, thanks to the film director, Carl) you just can't stop watching it. Nice animation and special effects, also loved the King Kong's kung fu style when it's fighting the 3 T-Rex in the jungle. Also there are a few breathtaking scene that makes you hold your breath in horror. At times, I think Kong is funny and cute but it's not the case when you're the innocent one who got stepped by it... hehe...

Well since they got the eight wonder thing, the story is not real, but I just can't understand some things like:
  1. How did they track down Kong in the jungle ??? Jack brings nothing with him, no weapon, no compass, but he still manage to find Kong and Ann... that's crap...
  2. Why all the crews' clothes are always so clean all day long? I'll get more mud stain on my clothes in just one round of paintball game compare to them.. hmm, like Ann's clothes, do you think Kong ever washes it hands ?? why she still looks clean after Kong grabbed her N times?? not to mention Kong grabbed her using its foot a few times...
  3. When Jack came to rescue Ann and trying to escape via a "suddenly appear tarzan rope"... it reminds me the story of a princess got trapped in a tower and the princess makes a rope out of clothes and the knight climbs up and kill the demon.. come on, can't they think of a better one ??
  4. Where's the natives when they get back to the shore ?? population wiped out by a few tommy gun ?? cut cost ?? retrenchment ?? fired ??

The story is quite touching but there are too many long, lingering stares between Ann and Kong. A few times it's fine, the rest are just making me yawning. Towards the ending, Kong climbs up Empire State Building, instead of World Trade Center in the old King Kong movie. That's because of the tragic events of September 11, Empire State Building is once again New York's tallest building.

Quote (last line):
It wasn't the airplanes; beauty killed the beast.

There is always a relationship between beauty and beast :O Planning to watch Narnia, it's not screening in local cinemas yet.

xXx - The Next Level - 1:43 am
Movie  -  poster

xXx - The Next Level
I watched this movie on the DVD during the weekends, xXx - The Next Level (also known as State of the Union), sequel of the first xXx. The movie itself isn't that bad but also not really a "wow" to me. In fact, I prefer more about the "behind the scene" section, eg. how a particular scene, explosion, stunt is shot in the movie.

Personally, I love the scene where Stone Darius connects an aircraft carrier's catapult launch hook to an empty tank and make a direct hit on an incoming enemy tank which is chasing for him. That's so COOOOOL and crazy!! hehe...

A worth to watch film (if you're a fan of explosions here and there).

FF VII - Advent Children - 8:24 pm

FFVII Advent Children Logo
Just finish watching the movie FFVII - Advent Children 15 mins ago and already I've a couple of high resolution screenies/wallpapers lying inside my hdd..muahhaa..Watching the movie kinda "refresh" my memories about the game's story I played 6 or 7 years ago. Although the movie is a little bit "rush" and "short" (well, IMAO anyway) I still love it so much and thank god the Square Enix didn't ruin my good old memories I had for so many years. As far as I remember, all the main characters in the game appears inside the movie.

Ok, let me refresh your memory by listing the names in game :
Cloud Strife : The very dedicated hero in FF7 as well as the main character in the movie. He is all alone in the world, wondering if they done the right thing in attempting to save the planet. He now sports a new look wearing a black outfit instead of the purple from FFVII. He carries his trademark buster sword and kicking Sephiroth's ass like old times.

Sephiroth : The ultra-powerful genealogical son of Jenova (biological son of Hojo and Lucrecia), this guy has some major problems. His "mother" is a planet-devouring entity, his true father is a medical psychopath, and he's got enough firepower to down a few solar systems. If he'd never met his real mother, he might have been quite a nice guy.

Zack : Can't really remember him..hmm..He's a soldier killed by Shinra soldiers and Cloud took over his job. He appears as flashback in movie.

Aerith Gainsborough : The mysterious flower girl and happy-go-lucky daughter of a Cetra and a human seems almost too good to be true for Cloud...and it soon turns out that she is. Aeris's tragic history is cut all too short by Sephiroth, who makes sure she doesn't get in the way of his plan. Her magical powers are admired by all. Also known as Aeris.

Tifa Lockheart : Tifa and Aerith share main heroineship in FF7. Bartending in Seventh Heaven bar and also a member of AVALANCHE. She's the only one who holds the truth about Cloud's past. In the movie, her wardrobe has been updated with her appearing to wear something similar to Rinoa in FF VIII. She now looks after Marlene and other orphans while working at Seventh Heaven.

Barrett Wallace : The dark-skinned leader of AVALANCHE. He's equipped with powerful tommy gun (heh, machine gun) on his arm. He adopted Marlene as his daughter. In the movie, he leaves Marlene in Tifa's care to search for new energy to replace Mako.

Vincent Valentine : Sorta "ghost" guy in the game and in movie. He fell in love with Lucrecia while working with Dr. Gast and Hojo. However he kept his feelings to himself, seeing her feelings for Hojo instead of him. Later he's linked to Jenova incident. Vincent wears a red cape and is able to transform into monsters during battle. He uses a small pistol for normal attack.

Cid Highwind : A rough, crusty middle-aged aviator. He uses a spear in battle and he's never without a cigarette. I can still remember the funny almost ending scenes in the FF7 game's CG movie where he's with his cigarette and his flying ship.

Red XIII : Looks like a muscular tiger with red fur and a always lighting tail. Red XIII was what Hojo called him when Hojo grabbed him for biological research. Red is also the defender of Cosmo Canyon.

Yuffie Kisaragi : A young ninja-type girl who lives in Wutai. Clueless kind of kid but her pinwheels are pretty deadly in battle.

Marlene : Barrett's super-cute adopted kid (Dyne's daughter), she tends the Seventh Heaven bar when Tifa's out. She's very with it and likes being involved in all the gossip. Playing an important role in the movie with other kids.

Rufus : A vice-president of Shinra Inc. He became president by default when Sephiroth killed his father. He's the wheelchair guy inside the movie.

Reno : The head of the Turks after Tseng passed on. He enjoys a good drink and never does anything beyond what his job requires.

Rude : The baldheaded, silent member of the Turks, he just goes along with whatever Reno tells him. He enjoys a good gambling night. Cool shades, Rude.

In the movie Reno and Rude appear on screen pretty often, but in the game they're just some small characters who jumps out and cause so disturbance to cloud and his partner's plan. I can't remember them good.. (or maybe I'm just growing old..)
